How to disable BPDU Guard on Cisco Switches

After performing a network switch upgrade I had several old switches in an environment. As soon as those switches start up they were blocked from the environment. After troubleshooting the environment the Cisco Switches has a security feature called BPDU Guard. This feature protects the environment from spanning-tree.  Here are some steps to disable it at the port level.

1. Login to the switch

2. Go to the enable mode: en

3. Go to config terminal : config t

4. Go to the interface: int Gi2/0/1

5. Disable BPDU Guard: spanning-tree bpdguard disabled

6. Shutdown interface: shut

7. Enable interface: no shut

8. Get out of config terminal: [CTRL]+z

9. Save configuration: copy run start
