Building A Growth Environment

Anyone that lives in the Midwest had see the corn fields. All year long the farmer works on them and get them ready with for the different crops. I once notice the farmers around me preparing the environment, getting it ready for the next crop. It was very interesting to see all the dedication they put into it to make sure the soil is ready for the next crop.

The environment where we are is very important for our success and for those around us. Like the farmer we need to prepare the environment if we want it to be fertile and productive for us and those around us.

One of the best ways to build your growth environment is to look at what are you doing for your career or personal development.

I will like to ask you a question: What are you doing to growth in your career or personal life?

Here are 3 areas that you can focus to start building your growth environment and those around you.

One of the keys for building a growth environment is to understand what you value and where you are going. Your values will help you center yourself and guide your vision. If you do not value yourself , there will not be anything that others can do to help you develop and grow. One of your core values need to be loving yourself. It may sound simple but let me ask you a question:

When was the last time that you took time to invest in yourself?

Investing time in yourself is very important and will help you put in order what you value most. Investing in yourself will provide you the greatest return on investment than any other thing you can do in your life. Investing do not have to be all about money, you can take time for your self to read a good book, or spend time exercising or planning what is your next move so you can get that promotion that you have been dreaming about, or launching that new business that you keep talking about. All this comes after you have taken the time to invest time in your self.

Where are you headed? In order to know where you are going you need to have a mental image or map so you can guide yourself where you are going to go. The Bible says:

[shareable cite=”Proverbs 29:18″]Where there is no vision, the people perish. [/shareable]

Do you know where you want to go? Do you have a plan? If you want to create a growth environment for you and those around you, it is important that you can “see more, more and more before”. What does that mean? You will look ahead before you need to. It means that you will take the time to plan ahead to reach your vision not just go with the flow.  It means that you will have a plan A, B, C and even D because you are ready to reach your vision and nothing will stop you.

Inner Circle

Who is close to you? One of the greatest motivational speakers of the 20th century Jim Rohn used to say.

[shareable cite=”Jim Rohn”]You will be the average of the 5 people you spend time with[/shareable]

So if you are going to become the average of the 5 people you spend time with; who would you like to become? You need to get people close to you that will help you reach more. People that will stretch you. People that will be willing to come close and think with you. Your inner circle will determine how far you will get.

So if you get clear in your values, act on your vision and bring people that you can learn from them into your inner circle you will be in the right track to build your growth environment.
